The Best Games of the Decade (2000-2009)

It is the beginning of a new decade!! To celebrate the new year and the new decade, the nerDy Word has composed a list of the best games of the decade. The categories and all nominees were voted on by a panel of ten gamers of various ages. This list was challenging to compile and there were a lot of heated debates upon many of the nominees and winners. Each catagory started with a much larger list of nominees and were narrowed down to the top 3 votes, with some exceptions to certain categories. Said exceptions will be noted by the nominee for clarification. All ties were broken by voting again for the remaining titles. Some votes were overturned by persuasion during debate. Nashville’s Game Galaxy Arcade

Imagine if you will, if there was one arcade left in the entire universe. Literally, nowhere to go to play the classics. NO ARCADE. Nowhere to go where you randomly play with strangers and meet new gamers. The giddy feeling you get after you put in your quarters..lights flash..8-bit noises and the smack of buttons on palms – gone. Nowhere to go to show your epic skills and nobody to have tournaments against.

BAD THOUGHT. EVIL THOUGHT!

Unfortunately Nashville’s arcades have dwindled.. and one extraordinary arcade remains and gosh darn it, I want it to remain in business.

{Look at it’s glory!}

So help us save it!!

It’s easy, just go to Save the Arcades, register, play Zapataur, and donate your points to Game Galaxy. For more information just go to Game Galaxy Arcade. The contest ends early October so get to playing. You can donate as many times as you want. =)

Did You Say FREE GAMES?!

Yes, yes, I said it. Free games. GamesRadar.com is giving us free games. Okay, so you’re not going to be able to play GTA IV or anything like that, but there are some games that will entertain you while you wait for Sony to announce their Exclusives and Microsoft to bring us the new dashboard. GamesRadar.com has divided the games into catagories, so pick a catagory and off you go.

365 Days of Free Games

There’s even a Guitar Hero wannabe!
