If you are from any of the above countries then you will not be able to use your credit card to purchase Metal Gear Online’s gene expansion. There is currently no word on exactly why Konami is not accepting credit cards from these countries. I certainly hope that Konami hears all of their fans comments. It is not fair to be able to purchase a game and then not be able to purchase content that goes with the game. The listed countries do bring numbers to Konami’s purchases, so I think that the gene expansion’s loss in sales will hurt.

A Look at Afro Samurai

Above, an awesome Afro Samurai trailer released at Comic-Con. The original voice actors for the television show will also hit the gaming screen, Samuel L. Jackson and Ron Perlman. Afro Samurai originally began as a manga by Takashi Okazaki which was then turned into a five episode anime. A new season (referred to as “Afro Samurai: Ressurection”) has been announced for 2009 on Spike TV. There are also plans for an Afro Samurai live action movie. I love the soundtrack and hope that the video game incorporates some of the amazing music by artists such as Big Daddy Kane and Talib Kweli.

Gears Of War 2 Bundle

The XBox 360 Fanboy site brings us news about the Gears Of War 2 Bundle {$130) to include the Lancer. A new Gears Of War edition was unofficially announced by panel members at Comic-Con. The Gears Of War 2 Bundle will cost $130 and is said to contain a replica of the Lancer. Microsoft has yet to confirm this $130 Gears 2 edition, what other content will be included or when it’ll be available.

Resistance 2 Beta

So apparently there is possibly another way to get into the Resistance 2 Beta other than being involved with Qore. Rumor has it that there will be a pre-order program that will allow you to have early access to the beta. This information is coming from a blog post by Insomniac’s James Stevenson. Well, if it’s coming from him then we can bet it is true. Other games that offered an open beta through pre-order is Halo and Metal Gear Solid 4. Get ready to pre-order!

Did You Say FREE GAMES?!

Yes, yes, I said it. Free games. GamesRadar.com is giving us free games. Okay, so you’re not going to be able to play GTA IV or anything like that, but there are some games that will entertain you while you wait for Sony to announce their Exclusives and Microsoft to bring us the new dashboard. GamesRadar.com has divided the games into catagories, so pick a catagory and off you go.

PlayStation Network ID Linking

You can now link your PSN account to your PSU account!! This is exactly what the PlayStation 3 needs, more connectivity and community. Bungie has it, XBox 360 has it, so now the PlayStation can join in with the online community by linking the PS3 to PlayStation.com! Below are a few F.A.Qs brought to you by PlayStation.com.

  • What if I don’t have a PLAYSTATION®Network ID?

It’s not a problem; register your online ID today!

  • Why would I link my PLAYSTATION®Network IDs?

Once you’ve linked your IDs, you’ll receive all these great features:

    • Identify yourself on the Web using your PLAYSTATION®Network portable ID
    • Display your PLAYSTATION®Network portable ID on social networking sites
    • Meet other PLAYSTATION®Network members
    • See who’s who on the PlayStation message boards
    • Keep tabs on your PLAYSTATION®Network friends on the Web with the Friend List
  • How do I link my PLAYSTATION®Network ID?

To link a PLAYSTATION®Network ID, choose a destination according to your current membership:
I have a PLAYSTATION®Network ID and want to link it.
    or

    I need to get a PLAYSTATION®Network account.

  • Do I have to have a PlayStation® Underground™ account in order to proceed?

Yes, you will need to have a PlayStation Underground account in order to access your PLAYSTATION®Network features on the Web.

  • What if I don’t have a PLAYSTATION®3?

It’s not a problem; however, certain features of the PLAYSTATION®Network require a PLAYSTATION 3—specifically, choosing an Avatar, managing your Friend List and editing your “About Me” message are PLAYSTATION 3 specific.

  • What is my online ID?

Your ID is your PLAYSTATION®Network name that you pick when you sign up.

It’s visible on your portable ID, on all PlayStation message boards (including any social networking sites where you post your portable ID), and on your buddies’ Friend Lists (where others have you listed as their friend). It’s your identity everywhere you go within the PlayStation online universe—and in some cases, outside that universe as well. Anyone who sees your portable ID or visits a website where you’ve used your online ID will know you by that name, which is why it’s imperative you pick a good one! Remember, once your ID is set, you can’t change it.

Metal Gear Solid 4, More To The Ending?

According to GameBlog.fr, there is possibly more to the ending for Metal Gear Solid 4. Rumor has it that six months after leaving the game, something will trigger in the game and spawn a “last minute surprise.”

This sounds like an awesome idea, but is it really possible? I know that technology is advanced and we can probably guess that the PS3 would be able to tell six months after you beat the game, but.. could it really? =/ This is a rumor that would be cool if it was true, but I have a strong feeling that it is just that. A rumor.
